The phone apps feel like phone apps
The iPhone and Android apps show the same screens as the web vault, and until now they sometimes behaved like a web page in a browser. They now behave like the other apps on your phone. See the mobile apps.
What’s new
- No more zooming. Pinching or double-tapping no longer zooms the screen, and tapping into a field no longer zooms into it. Text size follows your phone’s setting (Dynamic Type on iPhone, Font size on Android) instead.
- Screens slide in and out as you go into an item or a Settings page and back, or fade with Reduce Motion on. On iPhone, swipe from the edge to go back.
- Menus and dialogs open as sheets from the bottom of the screen.
- The keyboard no longer covers the field you’re typing in, and the tab bar hides while it’s open.
- Haptics when you copy, save or delete.
- Exports open the share sheet, so they can be saved to Files or sent to another app. Before, an export from the phone went nowhere.
- The status bar matches the app’s theme, light or dark.
- Touch feel: no grey flash on taps, no page bounce, no long-press menus on buttons and lists, and buttons react to your finger rather than staying highlighted after a tap. Values and notes can still be selected and copied.
The web vault on a phone’s browser gets some of this too: fields are at least 16px on touch screens, so Safari no longer zooms into them, and menus and dialogs are sheets on narrow screens.
